Invest Nova Scotia welcomes new board members

Invest Nova Scotia has announced two new board members.

A release says George Karaphillis, of East Bay, Cape Breton Regional Municipality and Jolene MacEachern of Debert, Colchester County are the new members of the board of directors.

Invest Nova Scotia says Mr. Karaphillis is dean of the Shannon School of Business at Cape Breton University.

He also taught quantitative methods, finance, IT strategy and entrepreneurship, and was co-owner of a computer solutions business for over 25 years and helped companies implement information and accounting systems.

The release states Ms. MacEachern is manager of the Industry Liaison and Innovation Office at Dalhousie's Agricultural Campus in Truro and is responsible for the agriculture and aquaculture portfolios.

She owns Folly Farms, a 300-acre, 130 cattle dairy farm and understands the crucial role of data in successful farm management and the way we feed the world.

Both will serve on the board for a term of four-years.
