Investigation launched into report request by Bill Casey into Truro communications centre
Bill Casey says an investigation has been launched into the RCMP's handling of an access to information request by the Cumberland-Colchester MP.
Casey has been seeking information about a rumoured move of the RCMP Divisional Operational Communications Center, and 50 jobs, from Truro to Halifax.
He says the Office of the Information Commissioner has deemed his request for a decade-old report to have been refused, as it's been nearly 100 days since the request was filed.
The report concerns the decision to locate the Operational Communications Centre in Truro.
Casey says he was told a new report being prepared on the Truro facility for Assistant Commissioner Brian Brennan, Commanding Officer of Nova Scotia "H" Division, should be done soon.
