Kevin O'Leary makes debut in Tory leadership race at Halifax debate

Thirteen veteran politicians were on stage, but political rookie Kevin O'Leary stole the show at Saturday night's Conservative leadership debate in Halifax.

The more experienced contenders piled on O'Leary, characterizing the celebrity businessman as inexperienced, opportunistic and politically tone-deaf.

But O'Leary held his own during the two hour debate, refusing to rise to the baiting of his rivals while focusing on economic issues and attacking the Trudeau government.

O'Leary timed his entrance into the leadership race to avoid making his debut during the last French-only debate because he barely speaks the language.
