Labour Department called in after body found in water near Halifax Bridge

The Nova Scotia Labour Department has been called in after police recovered a body from the water near the McKay Bridge in Halifax.

Police say they responded to a report of a body in the water Monday morning.

They say a man's body was recovered with the assistance of Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency and has been turned over to the Medical Examiner Service.

They say that due to the circumstances, the investigation has been turned over to the labour department to determine if the death was the result of a work place incident.
