Lobster fishery dispute leads to altercation, arrests in Little Harbour

The RCMP say a dispute between two families over the local lobster fisheries sent two men to hospital and led to the arrest of three others following an altercation near Musquodoboit Harbour.

Police say the incident happened at a home in Little Harbour on Sunday when two of the men went to confront another.

Two more men arrived on scene and the RCMP say the altercation included the use of a wrench, a golf club, and a baseball bat.

Police say a woman was also injured but she did not require medical treatment. 

A 33-year-old man from South West Cove is facing charges of assault with a weapon, a 49-year-old man from Little Harbour charged with assault with a weapon, mischief, and breach of an undertaking, while a 21-year-old man from Little Harbour is charged with assault, uttering threats, and breach of an undertaking.
