Local Canada Day Celebrations

Canada Day family activities at the Civic Square (2:00 p.m.) 
- includes bouncy houses, face painting, treats, Mi'kmaw Jingle dancers and iron Tide drummers, Acadian musical performances; 

Joel Plaskett Concert (8:00 p.m.) 

Fireworks (10:00 p.m.) 
- The town says the best places to watch the fireworks will be Civic Square, Riverfront Park, by the Main St. bridge to Bible Hill, and Colchester Legion Stadium. 

Prince St, between Young & Forrester will be closed to traffic from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 pm on Canada Day.

Bible Hill
Annual Canada Day Parade (10:00 a.m.) 
- Route: St Davids Avenue, left onto Pictou Rd, right onto Johnson Ave, another right onto College Rd, left onto Vimy Rd, right onto Pictou Rd and back up to St Davids Avenue

Fun at the Rec Park (12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
- Opening Ceremony at the Rec Park is at 12:30
- Live music, bouncy castles, bubble soccer, face painting, games, splash pad, food vendors

Shubenacadie Hay Days
Shubie River Park (11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
- Opening Ceremonies at 2:00 p.m.
- Carnival games, bouncy toys, booths & displays at Shubie River Park from 11 am to 5 pm with 
Classic Car Show at the United Church (10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
BBQ & strawberry shortcake at United Church
Canada Day People Parade (1:00 p.m.)
Rubber Duck Race on the river (3:00 p.m.)
Concert in the Park with No Where Road (7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.)
Fireworks (10:00 p.m.)
