Lunenburg RCMP seize 50 kilograms of marijuana during search of property
The RCMP in Lunenburg County used tracking dogs, ATVs, an excavator and a remotely controlled aerial drone as part of a drug bust this week.
The Mounties say charges were laid Wednesday after they searched a nine-hectare property on Wilbur Hill Road in Martin's River.
Two people were arrested after police discovered what they described as two sophisticated marijuana grow-ops.
Police say they also seized 50 kilograms of marijuana, some methamphetamine pills and a large amount of cash.
Mounties say 45-year-old Johnathan Christopher Hatt and 46-year-old Mary Retieffe-Hatt, both of Martin's River, are charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking in marijuana, marijuana resin and THC – also known as shatter – as well as possession of methamphetamine.
Both have been released from custody and police say more charges are expected.
