Man, 62. taken to hospital with serious injuries following robbery in Halifax, police say

Halifax Regional Police say a 62-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, following a robbery in Halifax on Monday. 

Police responded to a robbery involving a knife at a home on South Park Street around 3:40 p.m. 

Officers say when they arrived, the suspect, an 18 year-old man, had already fled the home on foot, leaving the 62-year-old injured with stab wounds. 

They say the victim was robbed of some personal items and that the two men are known to each other. 

The teen was located and arrested a short time later in the Gottingen Street area. 

Police say he remains in custody and is expected to be charged with robbery, aggravated assault, and weapons related offences.
