Man arrested when returning home with stolen jewelry
Halifax District RCMP say they have charged a Dartmouth man after a house alarm call in Cole Harbour.
Officers responded to a residence in the 0-100 block of Taranaki Drive around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and determined the home had been broken into.
Police say they found several items of jewelry were missing, and through the course of their investigation they identified a possible suspect.
RCMP say their members and officers from the Halifax Regional Police Quick Response team attended the suspect's residence and arrested him a short time later.
Police say the suspect was in possession of the stolen jewelry from Tanaki Drive valued at approximately $15,000.
RCMP say 64-year-old Lewis Perry of Dartmouth was remanded into custody and appeared in court yesterday where he was charged with five charges related to the break, enter and theft.
