Man charged after truck hits Tim Hortons in Chester, flees scene

A 23-year-old man from Simms Settlement is facing a slew of charges after driving a pickup truck through a wall at a Tim Hortons in Chester.

The Chester RCMP were called to the scene around 9:30 a.m. Friday and say there were no injuries, despite the wall sustaining significant damage.

Police say the driver fled the scene at high speed, and an investigation led officers to a second vehicle a short time later in East Chester and the arrest of three men.

The pickup truck was located in a wooded area by the RCMP Police Dog Service a short distance from the location of the arrests.

Two men were released, while charges laid against the driver of the truck include mischief damage to property, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance and registration.

He's due in Bridgewater Provincial Court on April 25th.
