Man charged with aggravated sexual assault, choking after Halifax woman attacked
Police say a Halifax man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her home has a criminal record dating back to 1984.
Forty-seven-year-old Sem Paul Obed faces several charges, including aggravated sexual assault and choking, after the woman was allegedly attacked on Friday.
Police say Obed has more than 30 previous convictions, including attempted murder, sexual assault and assault with a weapon,
Police had issued a high-risk offender notification when Obed was released from prison in 2014, noting he was assessed to be a very high risk to reoffend.
