Man charged with sexual assault after Bedford incident

A 25-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault after an incident at Walmart in Bedford earlier this year.

Halifax Regional Police say a man touched a woman in her 50s in a sexual manner over her clothing around 6:30 p.m. on March 18.

The woman yelled, causing the man to run away, and the incident was reported to a store employee and police.

Police say Brian James MacDonald turned himself in on April 19, but was released without charges.

MacDonald returned to the police station on June 21 as the investigation continued and was served paperwork to attend court on Sept. 7.
