Man charged with threatening police in Yarmouth

A 24-year-old Yarmouth man is facing charges of uttering threats and breach of undertaking after allegedly threatening police.

The RCMP say the man had called a provincial news outlet yesterday and said they should get a news crew to Yarmouth because there was going to be a shootout with police that night.

Yarmouth RCMP responded to the call around 4 p.m. yesterday, saying the threats were towards members of Yarmouth Town RCMP.

The suspect was located and arrested around 5 p.m. after he left a residence which officers had contained.

Police searched the home and say no firearms were located.
