Man faces charges after dangerous driving incident in Halifax

Halifax Regional Police

Halifax Regional Police say a man is facing charges after a dangerous driving incident in Halifax Thursday night.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Spring Garden Road around 8:20 p.m. after a vehicle narrowly missed hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Police say the driver refused to stop and fled the area at a high rate of speed while driving in a dangerous manner, and when they attempted to stop the vehicle for a second time on Cornwallis Street in Halifax, the driver fled again in the same manner.

Members of the Liquor Enforcement Unit observed the vehicle in Dartmouth and followed it at a safe distance to a parking lot and arrested the male driver and female passenger without incident.

Police say drugs were found after a search of the vehicle.

22 year-old Zachary Karl Juliusson of Rhines Creek appeared in court on Friday to face one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.
