Man injured during assault with machete
Police say one man is in hospital after he was assaulted with a machete in Chapel Island.
Officers responded shortly after midnight Wednesday to a call that indicated one man had been assaulted by another man with a machete.
RCMP say the victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say their initial investigation has determined three men were socializing when the suspect began to behave aggressively with the other two.
RCMP say the suspect swung a bat towards one man and missed, and another man who was in the area heard what was happening and entered the home.
The suspect then grabbed a machete and swung it at the man who had just entered the home.
Police say the victim suffered an injury to his hand as a result of the incident and was treated by EHS then taken to hospital.
RCMP say they know who the suspect is and are working to locate him.
