Man injured during Hants County home invasion
The RCMP are investigating a home invasion in Ellershouse that sent a homeowner to hospital.
The Mounties say a man and woman were asleep in bed shortly before midnight Tuesday when they were woken up by a man standing in the doorway of the bedroom, holding a firearm.
The man struggled with the suspect, and as a result, required hospital treatment for non-life threatening injuries. His partner was not injured.
The suspect is described as a man wearing jeans, a dark hoodie, and a light coloured bandanna over his face. He was approximately 5-foot-5 tall and had a low voice.
An RCMP dog was brought in and tracked the suspect to a nearby intersection, leading investigators to believe the suspect was picked up in a vehicle.
Police say they do not believe this was a random act and are asking anyone with information to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
