Man taken into custody after Onslow Mountain standoff with police

A 35-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly barricading himself in an Onslow Mountain home.

RCMP were called to a home on Onslow Mountain Rd. early Sunday morning, after receiving a report of a man armed with a firearm.

The standoff lasted about eight hours, ending when the man was arrested after leaving the home just after 12:40 p.m.

The Mounties say there were no injuries.

The man, whose name hasn't been released yet, is being held in custody until Monday morning's court appearance.

He's facing a number of charges, but the RCMP haven't said exactly what those charges are.
