Marine Atlantic resumes crossings following disruption in service due to high winds, heavy seas

Marine Atlantic is scheduled to resume its crossings to Newfoundland from Nova Scotia on Monday after an extended disruption in service.

A system of intense low pressure resulted in high winds and heavy seas in the Cabot Strait, forcing the cancellation of ferry services for the past four days.

It was the third lengthy weather-related disruption to Marine Atlantic services in as many weeks, raising concerns about the availability of certain goods in Newfoundland.
