Marine Atlantic warns customers that ferry service may be impacted by storm on Thursday
Marine Atlantic is warning customers that ferry service between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador may be affected by a storm expected to hit the Maritimes on Thursday.
It's issued a travel advisory covering departures between North Sydney and Port Aux Basques from Thursday through Saturday and says it will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as soon as possible.
Environment Canada says a winter storm is expected to bring significant snowfall early Thursday to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, along with strong and possibly damaging winds.
Several areas of Newfoundland are forecast to receive 10 to 30 centimetres of snow by midday today.
