MHL names Steve Dykeman new president
The Maritime Hockey League (MHL) has officially announced the hiring of Steve Dykeman as its new president.
The event was held at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro, N.S. on Monday.
Dykeman will take over the role effective immediately, replacing Dave Ritcey who is also stepping down as Chairman of the Board of Governors.
The 50-year-old from Saint John, N.B. was one of more than 50 people at apply for the job as president, in a process that took a few months to complete.
Ritcey says, "Dykeman brings the ability, experience, and innovation we sought through his career in business as well as holding senior management and leadership roles."
Dykeman says he's excited to get started and begin meeting all of the key stakeholders.
His first event as MHL President will be at the league's Annual General Meeting and Entry Draft in Edmundston, N.B. on June 14th and 15th.
