Missing man involved in Pictou County collision found dead

The RCMP say a missing 38-year-old man who was involved in a collision in Pictou County has been found dead.

Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 104 near Marshy Hope on Sunday.

Officers found an unoccupied grey 2008 Volkswagen Jetta with minor damage in the eastbound ditch.

The driver, identified as Christopher Salsman of Halifax, was missing.

Police searched the woods with the help of a service dog, but they were initially unable to locate Salsman.

Volunteers with local Ground Search and Rescue teams were also called in to assist in the search.

The RCMP say the body of the missing man was found in a brook around 6 p.m. on Monday.

The investigation into his death is ongoing, and police say they haven’t "made a determination about any criminality at this time."
