Mock collision shows New Glasgow grads the reality of a crash due to impaired driving
Grade 12 students from North Nova Education Centre got a firsthand look at what emergency responders face when responding to a crash due to impaired driving.
New Glasgow Regional Police, the New Glasgow Fire Department, the Trenton Fire Department, and MADD Pictou County presented a mock collision at the school Thursday morning.
Constable Ken Macdonald says the mock collision showed the realities of making an irresponsible decision to drink and drive.
It will display a graphic representation of the emotion of the victims of a collision, as well as the professionalism and skills of emergency responders to treat the injured.
He says they hope students will be responsible during their graduation by witnessing the mock collision and the consequences of impaired driving.
