Mounties in Nova Scotia arrest two 'travelling criminals'

Nova Scotia RCMP say they've arrested two "travelling criminals" involved in numerous frauds and thefts from Ontario to Newfoundland.

Mounties say they were alerted last week that two people involved with theft-related incidents in the region were travelling from Newfoundland to Nova Scotia via a Marine Atlantic Ferry.

They say two people from Ontario were arrested in North Sydney on April 9.

Alicia Maureen MacDonald, 33, and Rommel Jimenez, 41, are charged with a total of 58 offences, including possession of property obtained by crime, breach of conditions, and possession of break-in instruments.

Jimenez also faces additional weapons and forgery charges.

Police say they also recovered a rental truck and many stolen items during the arrest, including several pieces of ID, credit cards, a stolen purse, and several wallets.

The RCMP are working with several police agencies to try and determine the owners of the property.
