N.S. advocacy group will meet with health department to discuss long-term care system
A Nova Scotia advocacy group is meeting with representatives of the continuing care division of the Health Department this week to discuss issues in the province's long -term care system.
The Advocates for the Care of the Elderly issued a release Tuesday announcing the gathering.
The organization says it was already concerned by cutbacks to nursing home operations' budgets.
It says it is further concerned by continuing cases of pushing deaths in the homes that aren't reported by either police or the Health Department.
