Naming of trails, bridge in Victoria Park announced

Long-serving employees of the Town of Truro are being honoured in Victoria Park.

Ken Hollingsworth, Boyd Parsons, and Jim McCready will all have trails named after them, with the MacKenzie Bridge named in honour of former Director of Parks, Recreation, and Culture Doug MacKenzie.

Joel Dawe, the acting Director of the department, made the presentation to council and says the names are placed in areas where each man spent most of their time as town employees.

Mayor Bill Mills says the idea to name these trails came from the public, and the town owes a debt of gratitude to each for their work in Victoria Park.
