NDP leader says he's glad PC's and Liberals are discussing female representation
Nova Scotia's NDP leader says he's glad the PC's and the governing Liberals are paying attention to the issue of female representation among candidates in the provincial election.
Gary Burrill says his party is the only one fielding an equal slate of men and women in the May 30th election.
Premier Stephen McNeil has said while only 12 female Liberal candidates are running in 51 ridings, his party is fair to women and tried to get them elected in ``meaningful ridings.''
Tory Leader Jamie Baillie, whose party is running 17 female candidates, has demanded McNeil apologize for what he called ``dismissive comments'' about women.
