NDP outlines legislative agenda for coming session
NDP Leader Gary Burril has announced the party's plans for the coming legislative session and provincial budget.
In a press conference held on Monday, Gary Burril said the NDP plans to address such issues as access to family doctors, cuts to seniors' care, and emergency room closures in rural communities.
NDP Health Critic Dave Wilson says the focus of its Opposition Day on Wednesday will be on the Liberal's cutting of funding for nursing homes and the number of people who are without a family doctor.
The NDP Caucus says it plans to introduce legislation to repeal Bill 75, which imposed a contract on the province's 9,300 public school teachers and brought an end to work-to-rule, at the opening of the Legislature on Tuesday.
Burrill also says the NDP will be pushing for a budget that reverses cuts to seniors' care and invests in hospitals, schools, and communities.
