New attendance policy for schools in N.S. remains work in progress
A new attendance policy for schools in Nova Scotia remains a work in progress.
The request for a policy was one of the initial recommendations from the Council on Classroom Conditions, who released their first report and recommendations in April.
Chignecto-Central Regional School Board System Development Supervisor says a provincial committee was struck in June to develop procedures to implement the policy, and a draft was developed in July.
He says the committee was told last month it would be delayed and that the Minister of Education would continue to work with the Council on Classroom Conditions to finalize the policy during the current school year.
