New commanding officer at CFB Halifax

There's a new commanding officer at Canadian Forces Base Halifax.

Captain (Navy) Chris Sutherland turned over command to Captain (Navy) Paul Forget during a ceremony at HMCS Scotian yesterday.

Forget joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1987 as an Officer Cadet.

He was appointed as Chief of Staff Operations for the Commander of the Canadian Fleet Atlantic in 2009, and as Chief of Staff to Commander Maritime Forces Atlantic in Halifax last year.

Sutherland, who has commanded CFB Halifax for the past two years, will head to Ottawa to be the career manager for senior officers.
