New facility looks to boost N.S. ocean tech sector

A new facility dedicated to developing ocean technology and commercialization has opened in Halifax.

The Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship, or COVE, will house start-up companies, large firms and post-secondary experts working on applied innovation in the ocean sector.

At least 40 organizations are expected to work out of the facility with the first company, Kraken Robotics, moving in at the beginning of July.

COVE tenants will benefit from collaborative spaces, shared equipment, workshops and marine services.
