New Glasgow looking for volunteers to have water tested for lead

The Town of New Glasgow is looking for volunteers to have their water tested for lead.

New Health Canada regulations require all communities to test for lead in residential homes on an annual basis, with one litre of water drawn from the tap at a random time during the day.

The number of homes needed to be tested in New Glasgow is 40 per year, which is based on the population served.

The testing has to be done during the period at which the drinking water is the warmest, which is August and September in the town.

Anyone interested is asked to contact the water utility at 902-755-2237 or email craig.gerrior@newglasgow.ca.
