New Glasgow man to return to court in May on child porn charges

A hearing for a young New Glasgow man accused of transmitting and possessing child pornography has been put off until late spring.

According to Saltwire Network's The News, 20-year-old Nicholas Linthorne briefly appeared in court Monday, but had his plea hearing rescheduled for May 28.

Linthorne was arrested January 10 following a search by members from the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, the New Glasgow Police and the RCMP Technological Crime Unit.

He's also facing charges of  resisting arrest, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using an imitation firearm while resisting arrest, and assaulting a Peace Officer with a weapon after allegedly pulling a replica firearm on officers during the search.
