New Medical Officers of Health Appointed
The Nova Scotia Health Authority has appointed two new Medical Officers of Health.
Dr. Daniela Kempkins and Dr. Jessica Jackman will develop health protection and disease protection initiatives, as well as promoting healthy living for all Nova Scotians.
Dr. Kempkins is based in Antigonish and will oversee the Eastern Zone which includes Cape Breton, Antigonish County and Guysborough County.
She has worked as the Associate Medical Officer of Health and Acting Medical Officer of Health for the Region of Halton in Ontario.
Dr. Jackman is based in Halifax. She will oversee the Central Zone which includes Halifax and the surrounding rural communities.
She completed a public health and preventive medicine residency at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine earlier this year, as well as a final residency placement in Nova Scotia's Central Zone.
