New operating room in Windsor hospital officially opened
The new operating room (OR) at the Hants Community Hospital in Windsor has been officially opened.
Health and Wellness Minister Randy Delorey says the completion of the operating room is a significant milestone in the QEII redevelopment project.
He says it will allow government to move services out of the aging Victoria and Centennial buildings at the VG site.
The new OR means there will be 800 more operations each year, doubling the number of its annual procedures.
The existing operating room has also been upgraded, with the province saying it will open in two weeks; marking the first time in 30 years that the Hants Community Hospital has had two operating rooms up and running.
