New Year's Day Levee, Canada 150 launch at Government House

Nova Scotia's lieutenant-governor is encouraging residents to attend the annual New Year's Day Levee at Government House in Halifax.

J.J. Grant says Sunday's event will also include the launch of celebrations to mark Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation.

The Canada 150 launch will start with a flag-raising and singing of O Canada, and will be followed by the annual levee.

Grant says the levee is a unique opportunity for Nova Scotians to visit the oldest vice-regal residence in North America.

The Canada 150 launch and levee will run from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
