Nova Scotia's unemployment rate increased last month: Statistics Canada
Statistics Canada says the economy lost 7,500 jobs in May as a drop in full-time employment was only partially offset by an increase in part-time jobs.
The unemployment rate held steady at 5.8 per cent for the fourth consecutive month.
In Nova Scotia, 3,600 jobs were lost last month.
Statistics Canada says the province saw a loss of 1,900 full-time positions and 1,800 part-time positions.
The unemployment rate in the province increased from 6.7 per cent to 7.2 per cent.
