The Nova Scotia Health Authority says a 35-year-old patient who failed to return as planned to a Dartmouth hospital has been located.

The health authority requested the public's help in finding Ali Ahmed Ahmed after he was reported missing on Monday.

Officials said the patient's risk to himself and others increased with the length of time he was away from treatment.

But the authority says in a release that Ahmed was found safe and returned to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
