NSP installing new transmission line between Onslow and Springhill

Nova Scotia Power (NSP) crews are installing a new 65 kilometre transmission line between Onslow and Springhill.

The utility says in a news release that this project will reinforce transmission connections with New Brunswick, and support the addition of  renewable energy via the Maritime Link.

The work to clear the right-of-way has finished, and crews are beginning the process of setting 674 poles to form 320 new pole structures.

NSP says it’s expected that the pole and line installation will continue until May 2018, and represents a nearly $20-million dollar investment in Colchester and Cumberland counties.
