Officials say flights expected to normalize on Friday at Halifax airport

Officials at Halifax's international airport say flights are expected to normalize throughout the day after a powerful storm turned departure and arrival boards red with cancellations on Thursday.

But, they're advising travellers to check their flight's status before heading to the airport because there are still many delays and cancellations due to weather along the East Coast.

Numerous flights have also been cancelled or delayed on Friday in St. John's, Newfoundland.

Ferry service between Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia has also been cancelled for a second straight day and Marine Atlantic says crossings could be affected for several more days.
