Ontario man charged with speeding, impaired driving over Mount Thom

A 42-year-old Ontario man has been arrested for speeding and impaired driving over Mount Thom.

RCMP say a vehicle was stopped around 10:30 a.m. Monday for driving 170 km/h.

Police say the driver was showing signs of impairment, and he was taken to the detachment where a breath test showed readings that were nearly twice the legal limit.

The man was released from custody Monday and is due in Pictou Provincial Court on July 10th.

He's charged with impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit, driving while suspended, and speeding.
