Oxford under boil water order

**UPDATE - The boil water order was lifted Thursday, November 8. The water utility says the water is safe for customers to consume and the no longer need to boil it.**

The Town of Oxford has issued a boil water order for its water utility customers.

The town says it issued the order because of a lack of power to the chlorination plant.

Everyone under the boil water order is advised to boil any water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, making ice cubes, washing food, brushing teeth or any other consumption activity.

The town says once the plant is back in operation, notice will be issued as to when the boil order will be removed.
