PCs nominate representative for Colchester North

A business owner and community volunteer will be the Progressive Conservative candidate in Colchester North in the next provincial election.

Rebecca Taylor of Lornevale defeated three other candidates during a nomination convention on Saturday.

Eric Boutilier, Tyler Fraser and Michele Toole were also running for the nomination.

Taylor says the riding, currently represented by Education Minister Karen Casey, needs strong leadership to help develop the local economy.

Casey was nominated for the Liberals last fall, while the NDP chose James Finnie as their candidate during a meeting in January.

Premier Stephen McNeil has yet to announce an election date, but many have speculated that it will be soon.
