Pictou County man charged after pedestrian struck in New Glasgow
New Glasgow Regional Police say a Pictou County man has been charged after a pedestrian was struck in New Glasgow this morning.
Officers and EHS responded to the crash involving a 2016 Lexus and a pedestrian at the McDonald's Driveway exit and East River Road in New Glasgow shortly before 10:30 a.m.
Police say an 81-year-old man was crossing the driveway exit on the crosswalk when the driver of the 2016 Lexus struck him as he attempted to exit the driveway.
The pedestrian was taken to Aberdeen Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the driver of the Lexus, a 76-year-old man from Pictou County was charged with failing to yield to pedestrian in crosswalk.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
