Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday

It's Pink Shirt Day, and Nova Scotians are encouraged to wear pink to promote diversity and respect in schools, workplaces, and communities.

The initiative originated in 2007 after two high school students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, encouraged their friends to wear pink t-shirts in support of a student who'd been bullied at Central Kings Rural High School.

Since then, Pink Shirt Day has been recognized across Canada on the last Wednesday in February.
