Police ask for public's help to locate suspect following robbery in New Glasgow

New Glasgow Regional Police are asking for the public's help to locate a suspect following a robbery in New Glasgow yesterday. 

Police were called to the scene of the robbery at a tavern on Stewart Street around 1 p.m. 

A news release says a lone suspect entered the tavern and made a demand for money. 

Police say one staff member was grabbed, assaulted, forced into a room, and suffered minor injuries. 

The suspect fled the tavern on foot with cash. 

He is described by police as 36-year-old Shawn Daniel Bonvie, a white man with short brown hair, blue eyes, standing around 5'8" tall, and weighing approximately 200lbs. 

He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a brown zip up hooded sweater.
