Police continue to investigate murder of Tanya Jean Brooks
About 50 family members and friends have held a march in Halifax calling for justice for a Mi'kmaq mother of five who was killed ten years ago Saturday.
The body of Tanya Jean Brooks was found beside St. Patrick's-Alexandra School on May 11th, 2009, which was Mother's Day.
Investigators believe the 36-year-old knew her assailant and say they are hoping the passage of time will encourage someone with information to do the right thing and come forward.
Police say the case is part of a provincial program that offers cash rewards of up to 150-thousand dollars for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for major unsolved crimes.
