Police dog locates missing senior in Lawrencetown
The RCMP say a police service dog was able to track and locate a missing senior in a wooded area in Lawrencetown.
Halifax District RCMP received a report Monday night of a 75-year-old man who hadn't returned home after searching for his dog in a wooded area on Lawrencetown Road.
The Halifax Regional Police K9 Unit was called in to help, along with Halifax Ground Search and Rescue.
The RCMP say Police Service Dog Nico and his handler found the man safe and sound.
Eastern Shore Ground Search and Rescue was initially called to assist but the request was called off soon after, as the missing man was located.
