Police interrupt Amherst-area drug transaction, 2 men facing charges

Two men are facing drug trafficking charges after police say they interrupted a drug transaction in the Amherst area.

RCMP say members of the Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit were working on an unrelated investigation when they spotted the men.

Cumberland District RCMP and the Amherst Police Department also helped with the arrests.

Police seized ecstasy, methamphetamine, marijuana, cannabis resin, and cash.

The men are due in court on Oct. 30 in Amherst to each answer to one count of trafficking a controlled substance, failing to comply with a court order, and four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
