Pre-Primary pre-registration transferred to school boards
Pre-registration for the new Pre-Primary Program in Nova Scotia has been transferred from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development to the school boards.
The Chignecto-Central Regional School Board (CCRSB) says, effective immediately, parents and guardians are asked to complete an application form on their website and then take it to the school they want their child to attend.
The board says children must reside within the catchment area of the school where they apply to attend Pre-Primary.
The seven schools within CCRSB that are housing the Pre-Primary Program are New Glasgow Academy, North River Elementary, Shubenacadie District Elementary, Bible Hill Consolidated Elementary, Hilden Elementary, Junction Road Elementary in Springhill, and West Highlands Elementary in Amherst.
CCRSB says the provincial Pre-Primary Program will begin in "later September 2017", open to all children who are at least four years old by December 31st.
