Progress made with parking issues on Munroe Street
Progress appears to have been made with the longstanding issue of trucks parking on Munroe Street in Truro, waiting to enter the lumberyard.
The Town of Truro and CN have been meeting for months over the parking problem, which has created noise complaints and safety issues for nearby apartment complexes.
A 90-day trial began at the end of September, which included buying and installing more no parking signs and notifying CN when a driver is ticketed, including their licence plate and delivery time, which hadn't happened before.
Since the trial started, CAO Mike Dolter says there have been no parking problems reported.
The town has said the street will be closed to truck traffic if the trial is deemed unsuccessful.
